Rumi and Ibn 'Arabî: East and
West, 13th century
Eduardo Paniagua and
Book + CD
For centuries, the Sufi mystics used listening music and poetry to facilitate their entry into the ecstasy and rapture. They called this "technique" as sama'.
And this is what the mediaeval musician Eduardo Paniagua (awarded
as the Best Classical Artist in the Spanish Academy of Music Awards 2009) and Grian (expert
in the mysticism and author of the bestseller The Gardener) have tried to offer with their book-disc
collection The Science of Love, a compilation of samas, with mystical poems of different spiritual traditions, accompanied by the music of their own culture. A beautiful combination that carries in it a deep emotional charge.
